Rising Up

Seeing and hearing and touching and feeling and lying denying despair
Shrinking, receding and warming and sinking and taking a beating beware
Crying and trying and thinking of dying and nothing to do to prepare
Standing, supporting, rebelling, reporting and rising up everywhere...

Into the Abyss
07:39
|

We crossed the sea together, enduring all kinds of weather
Whether our endeavours would find us in good stead
Or we would wind up dead in bed
Or hanging by a thread
Preparing to move forward to a place as yet unknown
Excited and apprehensive
Travelling through seeking something new
Dreams driving deeper down dry depths
Into the abyss
Leaving behind fears and doubt, impatience and lethargy
Or thinking of leaving those but
Clutching onto to them even so
You never know. You never know what you gonna need
Carrying sacks of hope, pockets full of spirits
Courage, optimism, strength, positivity and endurance
Fear drives courage
Dreams driving deeper down dry depths
Into the abyss
Dare to dangle in the dark dungeon
Delving deeper into deathly danger
Dragons and demons in a Dantesque dance
A demented deluge demolishing disposition
Dreams driving deeper down dry depths
Into the abyss

Pandora's Box

Curiosity, destroying all the gains
Deadly properties, leveller
Oh to reminisce, oblivion is bliss
Now we gotta stop this, suffer the abyss
Stethoscope, gyroscope, isotope, monger
Giving hope, skipping rope
Hugger mugger, bread and butter
What about the wonga!
Pandora tried so very hard to leave things as they were but she could not stop thinking about the box and what it contained. The words, “Don’t open it!” echoed in her mind but curiosity finally got the better of her.
A turn of key that she had kept safely on a chain around her neck unlocked the box and Pandora was able to open the lid just a fraction to have a little look inside. Just a tiny glimpse…
A big mistake! As soon as the lid was lifted, a foul smell filled the air and stirring and rustling was heard inside. She slammed the box shut again but it was too late. All the evil within had been unleashed and escaped out into the world.
…Hate, Envy, Lies, Death, Famine, Pestilence, Greed, Vice, Crime, Violence… all evils imaginable let loose upon the earth…
Mitigating force, lingering inside
Suffering remorse, and torment
What does it contain? Safe or further bane?
Pessimistic expectation, driving me insane
Microscope, kaleidoscope, colourscope, conquer
Horoscope, envelope
Getting stronger, hunger squander
Wonder any longer!

Swordfish

Give that bastard one inch
And he’ll eat what’s left of your rationality
Well-being stands no chance against the beast
That multiplies and then sends itself
Into the farther reaches of your brain
You shouldn’t have let him in
One momentary lapse in concentration
Now what you gonna do?
Suffer the consequences? Stick up a fight?
Pretend he’s not there?
Oh to experience that naïve joy of life once more
To dream, to be carefree
No way!
There doesn’t seem to be any way out
There doesn’t seem to be any way
No way! No way out!
Dreams manifest
To outrageous proportions
And distraction becomes increasingly more difficult
As he gets to know your most devious ways
Now you’re gasping for air
You keep thinking it’s not fair
If only you’d been aware
Right now, take him on if you dare…
